She was crowned Miss World Vietnam 2022, which allowed her to represent Vietnam at the Miss World 2023 competition in India, where she made it to the Top 40. Earlier in her career, she was named Miss University of Dong Nai in 2018 and participated in Miss Vietnam 2020, where she finished in the Top 5 and received the “Beauty with a Purpose” award. Mai Phuong was born and raised in Dong Nai, with her family roots in Hue. In 2016, she placed second in the provincial English proficiency competition and third in 2017. While in the 11th grade at Nam Ha High School, she achieved an IELTS score of 6.5. She graduated from Dong Nai University and is currently studying English Language at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City. After a period of hard work, she achieved an IELTS score of 8.0 in early April 2022.
